SWBC & Play It Again Sports
join starting in 2010
It is with great excitement that I draft this letter, as it is the start of a partnership between the SWBC and Play It Again Sports. Our partnership brings together two organizations with a unifying theme of youth baseball in Wichita, KS. According to Scott Martin, owner of Play It Again Sports West, "We are excited to implement partnerships such as this, as we feel it gives strength to both organizations, resulting in better baseball leagues and tournaments in Wichita, KS.
Southwest Boys Club brings a rich history of 50 years and a renewed excitement for baseball in Wichita, KS. The Southwest Boys Club was organized in 1958 by a group of parents who saw the need for the type of an organization in the southwest section of the city. During this season 250 boys age 5 to 14 years participated. At the peak of the club in 1994 there were 76 teams with over 1,000 participants.
As a supporting partner, Play It Again Sports provides day to day operations of the club. This will include but limited to League and Tournament play in 2010 and beyond. We have a tremendous amount of work to complete prior to opening day in Aril 2010 and we are up for the challenge. This work includes revamp concession stand, updated bathrooms, painting, and field improvements to name a few. We would like to invite anyone with suggestions that will enhance the club to forward any information to Scott Martin.
In preparation for some of the great things we are bringing to participants and family's everywhere, I would like to encourage Southwest Boys Club supporters to join the cause. We have a variety of initiatives on the schedule to make being part of Southwest Boys Club a rewarding experience as possible. You can follow our progress, and learn more about what is going on on the Play It Again Sports website at playitagainsportswichita.com and the Southwest Boys Club website. As the remaining details of our partnership are finalized for 2010, be sure to keep an eye on both websites, we will work to keep you updated with the news as it becomes available. We will be announcing soon our partnership with our vendors: Easton Sports, Louisville Slugger, Mizuno, Rawlings, Wilson Sports, Demarini, Worth, Official Issue and Pear Sock. We are very excited about our upcoming tournaments in 2010.
Thanks,
Scott Martin
